La La Land” star Emma Stone and “Saturday Night Live” segment director Dave McCary announced their engagement through an Instagram post on Wednesday night.

The post showed the happy couple all smiles and was captioned with a single heart emoji.

Stone and McCary have been relatively private about their relationship, only occasionally appearing on each other’s social media accounts, according to CNN.

The pair met when the “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” star hosted “SNL” in 2016 and starred in a sketch called “Wells for Boys,” which was directed by McCary, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In addition to his work on “Saturday Night Live,” McCary also directed “Brigsby Bear,” a 2017 film co-written by “SNL” star Kyle Mooney and Kevin Costello.

Stone and McCary began dating in 2017.

In a interview with Elle in 2018, Stone discussed how her perspectives on marriage and having children had changed.

“As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids,” she said, according to USA Today. “And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”

The happy news comes amid Stone’s preparations for her upcoming role as Cruella de Vil in the upcoming “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” adaptation, “Cruella.”
