Parent Of 2 Sudbury Students Positive For Coronavirus

The students attend Curtis Middle School and Lincoln-Sudbury High School, according to town officials.

SUDBURY, MA — A Sudbury parent tested positive for the new coronavirus, COVID-19, over the weekend, town officials are reporting. But nobody in the person's immediate household is showing any symptoms of the disease.

Town health officials found out about the new case — Sudbury's second — on Friday. The parent has two students who attend Curtis Middle School and Lincoln-Sudbury High School.

Anyone who had close contact with the parent — including anyone who came withing 6 feet or spent more than 15 minutes with the person — has been identified by health officials and either placed in isolation or quarantine.

"At this time, none of the close contacts that were identified are sick," the town said in a statement. "They all remain at home and asymptomatic at this time."

Sudbury's first positive COVID-19 case came on March 10, when there were just 41 people across the state who had tested positive. That number had grown to 646 across Massachusetts by Sunday afternoon, including five deaths. Middlesex County has the state's most cases at 199.
