Young will become the latest NBA player to invest in the Australian league, joining former Houston Rockets and Oklahoma shooting guard Kevin Martin as an owner in the Brisbane Bullets.

In 2019, Martin led a new ownership group, ultimately taking 75 per cent of the Bullets.

Young’s investment was first reported by The New York Times′ NBA writer Marc Stein.

Sources confirmed to The Australian Financial Review there was an agreement being negotiated for Young to take out a minority stake in the Bullets.

The NBL declined to comment.

Houston Rockets All-Star guard John Wall joined an ownership consortium for South East Melbourne in November last year. Also in the ownership group are former Memphis star Zach Randolph, Josh Childress and Australian guard Dante Exum.

Former Dallas Mavericks championship forward Shaun Marion also bought into the New Zealand Breakers.
