Michigan Reports 705 New Coronavirus Cases, 12 New Deaths

MICHIGAN — More than 118,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan as of Wednesday morning, according to state health officials.

Michigan reported 705 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the statewide case total to 118,615. The state also reported that 12 more people have died from the virus, increasing the coronavirus death toll in Michigan to 6,692.

Michigan added over 500 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. Officials said that as of Friday more than 90,000 people in Michigan had recovered from the virus.

Michigan is 17th in the U.S. in reported coronavirus cases, according to the World Health Organization. The state ranks ninth in the nation in reported coronavirus deaths.

The U.S. leads the world with more than 7.1 million reported coronavirus cases, according to the World Health Organization. Over 205,000 people in the U.S. have died from the virus. More than 4.3 million people in the U.S. have recovered from the coronavirus.

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 32 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide. That number includes over 978,000 deaths and more than 23.5 million coronavirus recoveries. Over 7.4 million cases of the virus are listed as active.
