IndyCar Drivers to Race on Bridge over River at Downtown Nashville in 2021
IndyCar is planing to get a little bit country in 2021.
The series announced on Wednesday that it will be taking its talents (OK, its cars and stars) to downtown Nashville for a three-day race weekend, Aug. 6-8, 2021. The track will feature a 2.17-mile temporary downtown circuit around Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans.
The layout sounds interesting and Nissan Stadium is slated to serve as the paddock. Even more interesting, or maybe frightening, is that the track will include the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Cumberland River.
Nashville will give IndyCar its first new street circuit since 2013. A downtown race at Reliant Park in Houston was contested in 2013 and 2014.

Nashville gives IndyCar two races with official dates for the 2021 schedule. The 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is set for May 30.
