CANBERRA -- Researchers from Australia's national science agency have discovered a faster and cheaper way to detect coronavirus outbreaks through wastewater.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) on Friday revealed that it has refined the methods of concentrating and recovering the virus from wastewater samples, which can indicate the presence of COVID-19 carriers in the community regardless of whether they show symptoms.

SAN FRANCISCO -- The continued spread of COVID-19 in San Francisco's Mission District in the first six weeks was increasingly concentrated among low-income Latinx people who were unable to work from home, according to a study released by the University of California, San Francisco Thursday.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported no cases of COVID-19 on Friday after three active cases had been reported this week.
