887 New Coronavirus Cases In DuPage County In 24 Hours

A total of 12 people died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours in DuPage County, according to the health department.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County has seen 887 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). In total, there have been 45,087 coronavirus cases and 741 deaths, Illinois Department of Public Health reports.

There were 12 coronavirus-related deaths in DuPage County in the past 24 hours. These include:

  • Two women in their 60s
  • Four men in their 70s
  • Four men in their 80s
  • One woman in her 90s
  • One man in his 90s

The news comes as total cases in Illinois reach 720,114. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 12,193 as of Sunday and the recovery rate was 97 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

DuPage County's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. In recent weeks, there has been an uptick in cases among residents who are 20-29 years old.
