It could happen here — and it is

New City, N.Y.: Forget thinking logically about Trump and his followers. The facts against him are not heard or seen by them. He is their idol. They will follow him to the grave. The mental and spiritual connection from Trump to Trumper is unbreakable. He hit a nerve and turned them into unquestioning, devoted disciples. They will gladly “drink the Kool-Aid.” Why revere a man who is lying to them, deceiving them, and a danger to them? Do they perceive a better life? Do they feel loved, recognized, and validated by him? Why would a healthy one-third of the American population support a man who is not interested in protecting them from a deadly pandemic or improving their lives with affordable healthcare, a cleaner environment, equality for all Americans and a living wage?

Falling in line.

Trump mesmerized and conned them with empty promises, arrogant and belligerent words against “the establishment” and expected norms. He opened their eyes and minds to the darker side of themselves — a facet of their character where outward demonstrations of hatred against others is heralded as a right.

Trumpers are the lost fragment of the American population, ignored for decades. His words baptized a suppressed segment of us that are now too provoked to go back to the norm. If Trump wins this election — lawfully or not — America is in for an unholy makeover. Christine Ierardi

Losing it

Plainview, L.I.: Nancy Pelosi is considering using the 25th Amendment to get Donald Trump removed from office as unfit. My question is would that apply to Joe Biden if he wins the presidency, due to his answer in the debate, “I am running for the Senate,” before he realized he meant the presidency, as well as other forgetful comments. In that case, Nancy Pelosi, make sure you do your job right. Frank Mauceri

Trojan horse

Bronx: I see that this left-wing, biased rag mostly prints hateful letters against the president and that support your views. However, let’s look at your guy, flip-flopping, quid-pro-quo Joe Biden. A vote for Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris for president, as his cognitive ability is in question and he will not last six months. Harris has the most liberal voting record in the Senate, left of Bernie Sanders. A vote for Biden (sorry, Harris) is a vote for the radical agendas of Bolshevik Bernie and, unfortunately, my know-nothing, self-promoting representative, AOC. You cannot really believe the rich will pay for all of their programs. The middle class will be taxed into oblivion. If you want open borders, citizenship for illegal aliens, high taxes, loss of liberties and freedoms, socialism and lawlessness with no police, vote Democrat. Then the Democrats can do to the entire country the bang-up job that they are doing in the cities and states that they control. Venezuela, here we come. Ron Summers

When we go low

Copake, L.I.: What hypocrites! Trump supporters cheer the president when he insults governors, senators, House members and former presidents. Yet, when a political satirist, Bramhall, does his job and makes fun of President Trump, it crosses some kind of line? Please spare us the crocodile tears. If you don’t like the coarsening of political debate, then hold your man to the same standards. Otherwise, it’s all fair play. Joseph Cannisi

Misled

Tuckerton, N.J.: I just could not believe my eyes upon seeing on TV the Hasidim carrying flags for the election of Trump. This is a man backed by skinheads, Nazis and Jew-haters. I blame this solely on Harold “Heshy” Tischler, who is a corrupt scoundrel. He riles up those who are too ignorant to watch TV, to read a regular newspaper or to listen to anybody with common sense. They are being told lies and even beat a reporter who is one of them. Jacob Kornbluh has been on their side for decades but they are going along with Heshy? Trump is with the skinheads and the Jew-haters and they will vote for him? Something is very wrong here! Roxxane Felician

Expert advice

West Orange, N.J.: In anticipation of protests following the election, Timothy Snyder, a historian and maven on totalitarian governments, implores that all peaceful protests should be done during the day. In broad daylight, it’s clear to see who are the peaceful protesters and who are the violent offenders being either the hired thugs or the rioters setting fires to stores, police cars and precincts. He implores that protesting should only be during the day. I hope the organizers implement this. Miriam Sheff

Be kind

Forest Hills: I went to the aquarium on Monday with my son and his family. My grandson is 3 and has language delays and sensory integration issues. As we were getting ready to leave, he screamed twice. It happens when children don’t have the words to express their needs. A man standing by with his family snidely said, “Was that really necessary?” Be grateful if your children can verbally express their wants and needs. Don’t take these basic things for granted and don’t ever make a family feel worse than they do at these times. We can only guess what our little guy wants. We have no time to waste on how his two screams made you feel. A year ago we could not have even taken him to the aquarium. We are so proud of the progress he has made and he deserves to be there as much as you do. Next time choose to say nothing! Karen Gander

Goofs

Bradley Beach, N.J.: Yo Editor, you really need to edit. So many mistakes in your paper. Yesterday, “Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-Ky)”…what? Pat Freeman

But why?

Brooklyn: I agree with Voicers Sherri Rosen and Nelson Jimenez’s comments, however, I have to add my own. What is going on with the smaller print? Harder to read for us seniors. Do my eyes deceive me or does anyone else agree? Rosa Tesoro

Dumpy

East Meadow, L.I.: Let the Jets and Giants play each other at 1 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday. We can call it The Toilet Bowl! Evan Rowe

Design flaw

Breezy Point: I would like to know what genius designed Petco Field with a 45-degree overhang on the top of the right field wall, which Aaron Judge banged his head on (and could have broken his neck) when he leapt to catch Austin Meadows’s homer in Game 5 against the Rays, which barely made it over the wall. I have been watching baseball since 1961 and I have never seen anything like that before. John Carberry

Italian enough

Clark, N.J.: To Voicer Peter Galvin: Mayor de Blasio is certainly Italian. It’s his mother’s maiden name. And I guess he liked the Italian side so much that he changed his last name to match his mother’s side. Kevin Mallardi

Chain of command

Bronx: Mayor de Blasio needs a lesson in basic civics. ICE is a federal agency under the chief executive, the president. The mayor cannot order them about. Kevin Harrington

Judiciousness

Glendale: Voicer Jim Anderson asks a good question about whether the Constitution stipulates about stacking the deck in regards to Supreme Court justices being conservative or liberal. The fact is that the Supreme Court’s role is to determine whether or not a law violates the Constitution, not whether it fits their personal philosophy. Unfortunately, many of the justices that are considered liberals believe that it is their responsibility to rule on a law using their opinion, not the Constitution. Thomas Murawski
