The Circle Chat is popping once again! The Circle, Netflix’s social media reality competition show, is back for Season 2 and you better believe the gameplay is even more intense this time around (just check out our chat with the first blocked player(s)). After a worldwide trip that included seasons in Brazil, France, and The Circle’s home country of England, the show is back in the United States. But when a show’s as international as The Circle, you gotta wonder if there are Circle apartments scattered across the globe. So while you’re bingeing the first four episodes on Netflix, here’s a fun little tour of the iconic Circle building—because yes, there’s just one.

Where was The Circle Season 2 filmed?

The Circle Season 2 was filmed in the exact same building as every other season of every iteration of The Circle (except UK Season 1). It doesn’t matter what establishing shots the show uses of different cities, the show was filmed in the UK. The Circle Season 2 was filmed in the same building as Season 1, an apartment building in Salford (which is a district in England within Manchester). The building is known as the Adelphi Wharf 1 (you can spot it on Google Maps).

Like I said before, every iteration of The Circle from 2019 to today has been filmed in these apartments—and wow was there ever a revolving door over the past few months! The Circle US Season 2 filmed in succession with The Celebrity Circle and The Circle UK Season 3, both of which just finished airing on Channel 4 in the UK just a week before the debut of US Season 2. Unfortunately there’s not a way for those seasons to be streamed in the US just yet, but at least you know what those series look like. They look a lot like Season 2 of The Circle US, just with, uh, British people in them.

And now here’s the fun part (at least for me): figuring out which Season 2 players are living in which apartments!

Which Circle Season 2 contestants live in which Circle apartments?

Since The Circle uses the same apartments for every international season, it’s interesting to note who’s moving into which previous contestant’s space. While the apartments were more or less kept the same for all of the 2020 series, they all underwent major overhauls for The Circle Season 2. Every wall was painted, every cabinet refinished, every wall treatment was changed up, and all the furniture has been swapped out. They really do look completely different—except the floors and countertops. Seriously, those are the two things that set designers can’t just swap out on a whim. And since it is impossible to tell the marbling on all the countertops apart (believe me, I tried), you have to go off the floors in order to see who lives where.

You ready for this way-too-detailed nonsense?

Jack (a.k.a. Emily) is living in Chris Sapphire’s old apartment—and honestly, I think Chris would’ve preferred the redesign.

Bryant’s living in Alex’s (a.k.a. Adam’s) apartment, which is the easiest to spot because it’s the only apartment with this layout.

Lee (a.k.a. River) is staying in Miranda’s apartment, which was vacant at the beginning of Season 1 until she entered The Circle.

Chloe’s got some good luck on her side because she’s moved into Joey’s old digs.

And speaking of luck, Courtney finally broke the curse of Alana’s apartment, a curse that sent the three previous tenants home in the first episode.

But after that it’s hard to tell, because the other apartment layout has identical floors. Y’all, I got up close to my laptop screen and was trying to match woodgrain and knots in the floorboards before I finally just gave up. Let this be your task, Circle superfans!

Here’s how these apartments looked in Season 1:

And here’s the overhaul they got for Season 2:

And before you point it out, no, that brick wall is not an indicator of who’s living where. Only one apartment in Season 1 had exposed brick, and two apartments do in Season 2—and the bricks look completely different. Those probably aren’t even real bricks!!

Anyway—what did we learn here? The Circle films every single season in the same building, and they do a damn fine job of making every apartment look fresh even if most of them have now had at least a half dozen occupants.
