Monday brings the start of another tournament for the Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team. The squad is in Johns Island, S.C., just outside Charleston, for the Briar’s Creek Invitational. Played at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, the Mocs face a talented 17-team field.
Chattanooga, ranked No. 81, is one of 14 rank in Golfstat’s top 100. Florida, Kent State and Miami (Fla.) are the top-ranked squad at No. 29, 35 and 38, respectively. This is the third year for the event, and third entry for the Mocs finishing sixth last season, two strokes behind 11th-ranked Clemson.
Agathe Sauzon, Emily McLennan, Isabella Loza, Cris Perez and Megan Woods represent the Mocs this week. Sauzon looks to build on back-to-back top 10 finishes.
Chattanooga is paired with ETSU and Penn State for Monday’s 36-hole shotgun start. Rain is in the forecast.
