Amazon opens fulfillment center in the Pittsburgh area. Here’s where else the company is hiring in Pa.

Amazon’s leaders and employees recently celebrated the opening of a new fulfillment center in Findlay Township in the Pittsburgh area.

“Amazon is proud to open our newest fulfillment center in the Keystone State, creating 1,000 new, full-time jobs with industry-leading pay and full benefits starting on day one,” said Robert Plemmons, site leader of Amazon’s Imperial fulfillment center, according to the press release. “This new, state-of-the-art facility will also allow us to better serve our customers and work with more than 52,000 small and medium-sized Pennsylvania businesses through the state, as they use Amazon services to bring their products to millions of people across the Commonwealth and around the world.”

Amazon’s Imperial location now has more than 1,000 employees occupying the space, joining more than 16,000 employees across the commonwealth. According to the press release, employees will use “innovative technologies to to pick, pack and ship larger-sized items, including bulk cleaning supplies and paper goods, sports equipment, pet food and supplies, electronics and household goods."

Pittsburgh:

With Amazon opening its new Imperial fulfillment center location in the Pittsburgh area, of course there are positions open in the region.

Hamburg:

Amazon is also hiring more than 1,000 employees to join its new Hamburg fulfillment center. “Our associates are the heart and soul of our operations, and we’re excited to welcome more than 1,000 new employees to the team,” said Edward Buddenhagen, site leader of Amazon’s Hamburg fulfillment center, according to a second press release. “These are great jobs, with industry-leading pay and benefits, and we’re proud to provide a safe, innovative work environment where they can grow their careers.”

Harrisburg:

Back in April, Amazon announced that it was hiring more than 75,000 people with some of those jobs being available in the Harrisburg-Carlisle region.

Amazon continues to hire in the region — with jobs ranging from WHS specialists to a variety of mangerial positions, according to Amazon’s Harrisburg career section.

Philadelphia

Recently, it was reported that Amazon would lease the newly built warehouse in Byberry East Industrial Park and be the sole tenant in the space, according to the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development. The new location is part of Amazon’s push to hire more than 100,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which includes an estimated 5,000 jobs in Philly, according to the report.

At the time of publication, Amazon’s career site currently showcases more than 30 open positions in the Philly area.
