Edna Earl Jesse, 88, died on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009.

She was a native of Henegar, Al., but lived most of her life in North Georgia. She was of Protestant faith and a member of Gamma Theta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an Honorary Society for Women Teachers, Walker County Retired Teachers Association and Walker County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy William Jesse.

Survivors include her cousins, John Fears, of Jacksonville, Fl., David Quinten White, of Cartersville, Ga., Louise Ottinger, of LaFayette, Ga., Dr. Thomas Taylor, of Chattanooga, Karen Blackmon, of Oxford, Al., Jerry Thornbury, of Dalton, Ga., and Larry Thornbury of Lineville, Al.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with John Fears and the Rev. David Lively officiating.
Interment will follow in Head Springs Cemetery, Valley Head, Al.

The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. on Friday, and prior the service on Saturday.
