Swiss artist Gerry Hofstetter used the Matterhorn as his canvas on Thursday night, lighting it up with a message of hope and support amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Known as a light artist, he projects images on buildings and other surfaces, according to Sactown Magazine. In 2018, he chose Sutter’s Fort in Sacramento for one of his works amid his 50-state Light Art Grand Tour USA. The site built by Capt. John Sutter has links to Hofstetter’s native Switzerland.

For his project on the Matterhorn, he broadcast the messages #stayhome, #hope and an image of heart on the famous mountain bordering Switzerland and Italy.
