Coronavirus-related hospitalizations in California increased for the first time in six days, by seven, bringing the total to 7,761, according to unofficial counts from state websites on Sunday.

Hospitalizations are still 12% below the high of 8,820 reported in the state tracker July 23. Sunday’s tracker, posted online Saturday,  incorrectly reported the number of hospitalizations at 6,459. The correct number was 7,754, but still registered a decline in hospitalizations for that day.

There were 4,669 new cases and 41 new deaths as of Sunday. The state’s number of total cases is at least 511,125 and total deaths 9,395, according to unofficial counts from county websites. Modoc County reported its first two cases, making it the last county to report its first cases of the coronavirus.

The state’s breakdown of cases by age is as follows:

5 and younger: 2% (9,972)5-17: 7.2% (36,584)18-34: 35.4% (180,410)35-49: 25.1% (127,704)50-59: 14.1% (71,672)60-64: 5.1% (25,879)65-69: 3.5% (17,869)70-74: 2.4% (12,438)75-79: 1.7% (8,624)80 and older: 3.4% (17,248)

The state’s breakdown of deaths by age group is as follows:

5 and younger: 0% (0)5-17: 0% (1)18-34: 1.5% (135)35-49: 5.7% (531)50-59: 9.9% (918))60-64: 7.7% (708)65-69: 9.7% (902)70-74: 11.2% (1,039)75-79: 11.4% (1,055)80 and older: 42.8% (3,963)
