BTS Announce A New Concert Film Coming To Theaters Next Month

This article is more than 3 years old.

As they get ready to launch a new single later this month, one which precedes an album that could arrive as early as this fall, BTS has announced yet another project that fans are sure to enjoy, and it takes them down a path they have successfully followed before.

BTS has announced the release of a new concert film titled Break the Silence: the Movie, which ARMYs (the name the group’s super fans have adopted) should be able to see in just over a month.

Break the Silence: the Movie focuses on the group’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour, which took place between May and October of last year and which saw the seven-member vocal band play 20 more shows in cities like Chicago, New York, São Paulo, London, Paris, and of course, their hometown of Seoul. In addition to footage of them performing on stages all around the globe, the film will also take fans backstage, letting them get to know each performer better.

The movie will first be shown on September 10, and it will go wide in the United States on September 24. Tickets are slated to go on sale next week.

Break the Silence: the Movie comes just a year after BTS last sent a concert film into theaters, and based on how well that release performed, it’s no surprise they’ve quickly followed it up with another. Last year, Bring the Soul: the Movie broke box office records as “event cinema” and brought in millions in revenue.

Amazingly, Break the Silence: the Movie isn’t the only BTS film lovers of the group will be able to buy a ticket to very soon. Bring the Soul: the Movie is coming back to theaters for a three-day run between August 28 and 30. Those who do go to see the older title will be treated to a sneak peak of their latest release, which drops just a few weeks later.

BTS always succeeds whenever they deliver some new piece of content, but the number of tickets sold and box office figures may be lower this time around, as millions of fans around the world, especially in the United States, may opt to stay home instead of going to see a movie in a theater. The spread of Covid-19 has hurt cinemas more than many industries, and there are bound to be plenty of ARMYs and casual fans who might not be comfortable paying for a ticket.
