CHP warns issue citations near Shandon schools, warns drivers to not drive distracted

SHANDON, Calif. -- Templeton California Highway Patrol warns drivers to drive responsibly after giving out numerous citations at a four-way stop sign near Shandon schools on Thursday.

CHP officers ramp up enforcement after receiving several requests for additional enforcement near Shandon schools.

Officers say they received reports of drivers ignoring the four-way stop signs at the intersection.

After stepping up enforcement, officers issued a handful of citations for stop sign and cell phone violations.

CHP officials took to Facebook to warn drivers to drive cautiously due to a number of pedestrian activity in the area.

CHP officials tell drivers to come to a complete stop and to not drive distracted.

Their goal is to make sure that everyone makes it safely to their destination.
