Jacksonville extends mask order through Oct. 27; St. Augustine relaxes its mandatory order

Jacksonville, Fl — A mask order mandating facial coverings indoors where social distancing isn’t possible will continue in Duval County through October 27th.

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry’s order requires anyone 6 years of age or older to wear a mask.

City officials say since June, there have been 14 complaints filed at local businesses for violations of COVID-19 regulations. Two were related to wearing masks.

The city of St. Augustine, meantime, is lifting its mask mandate. But the city will continue to strongly encourage mask wearing indoors where social distancing isn’t possible.

Florida’s overall positivity rate for new cases has been below five-percent for the past few days.
