The man who died in an airplane crash Saturday in Island Pond, Vermont has been identified, according to state police.
The fiery crash was reported at approximately 3:45 p.m. approximately 100 yards away from the John H. Boylan Airport. State police responded to a call of a large fire and found a single-engine aircraft engulfed at the scene.
The sole occupant, who was identified as 60-year-old Mark Biron, of Brighton, Vermont in a preliminary investigation, was found dead. A final confirmation is currently pending from the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Burlington.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
