The Nashville SC goalkeeper department has shuffled slightly in recent weeks. The latest move sees backup  Adrian Zendejas heading to Minnesota United in exchange for a 2021 MLS SuperDraft fourth-round pick.

Nashville announced Thursday it will receive an additional $100,000 in general allocation money from Minnesota, should Zendejas reach certain player performance metrics.

The club confirmed Aug. 25 it loaned young goalkeeper Brady Scott to USL Championship team Sacramento Republic FC, after signing the 21-year-old just eight days prior. Nashville has starting goalkeeper Joe Willis and backup Elliot Panicco on its roster.

Zendejas, 25, was acquired in November during Nashville's MLS Expansion Draft, via trade with Sporting Kansas City. The 6-foot-5 Zendejas did not debut for Nashville. Minnesota lost its starting goalkeeper, Tyler Miller, in August to season-ending injuries, and its No. 2, Greg Ranjitsingh, is recovering from a knee injury suffered Sept. 9 against FC Dallas.

Aside from making his MLS debut April 7 last season against FC Cincinnati, Zendejas' professional experience in the U.S. comes from his time with Kansas City's USL team, Sporting KC II. In 2017 and 2018 with them, Zendejas started 37 matches and had 14 shutouts.
