FLINT, MI -- Upcoming holiday celebrations will begin in downtown Flint with tree lighting at the “TREEmendous Evening” Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“TREEmendous Evening” is hosted by Uptown Reinvestment Corporation and is a collaboration between the downtown businesses for Flint residents and other locals to attend. The event will take place at the corner of Saginaw and Second streets around 555 S. Saginaw Street.

Attendees can expect music, Santa and Mrs. Claus, family-friendly activities, live reindeer, storefront decorations, hot chocolate, free horse and carriage rides, discounts at stores and restaurants and the lighting of a 35-foot Christmas tree.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for free photos starting at 5:45 p.m. and a countdown for the tree lighting will start at 6:59 p.m.
