One man dead after two-vehicle crash near Montpelier, ND

80 year old man killed in 2 vehicle fatal crash.

MONTPELIER, N.D. — An 80-year-old Montpelier man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 46 on Monday, May 6.

The accident occurred about 6 miles south of Montpelier at 6:30 p.m.

North Dakota Highway Patrol said the driver of the Jeep was heading eastbound on Highway 46 when a pickup driven by Damon Smith, Litchville, N.D., hit the back of the Jeep causing both vehicles to go into the ditch.

The Jeep rolled over and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Smith was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment before being released.
