Capac Road between Hough Road and Burt Road in Berlin Township will be closed to traffic through mid-November for construction.

The project includes crushing existing asphalt, paving new asphalt surface, ditch cleanout, new drainage, aggregate shoulders, pavement markings and restoration.

The road was closed to traffic Oct. 4 and is expected to be closed until Nov. 15. The detour will be Gould, Howell, Hough, Sperry and Burt roads.

Through traffic will not be allowed on Capac Road during construction. Local residents and emergency vehicles will have limited access through the construction site.

The roughly $3.62 million project is being financed by the St. Clair County Road Commission, the state of Michigan and road millage funding. The work is being performed by J & N Construction.
