Stewart Sutherland is a Wurridjuri man and an early career researcher, and lecturer at the ANU. Sutherland's research has already been influential in the areas of SEWB, trauma, mental health, cultural health, nutrition and food sovereignty. He has extensive experience as a project manager in the arenas of food, health and SEWB.
Employment: Sutherland leads Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health at the Australian National University, Medical School, ANU College of Health and Medicine, as Framework Chair Indigenous Health and Lecturer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. Previous roles had Sutherland lecturing at University of Sydney (UoS), Faculty of Nursing Lecturer, Indigenous Health (2016- 17); UoS, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Cultural Competency (2015-17); writing Reconciliation Action Plan for Welways, (2015-16); Lecturer/ Tutor, University of Canberra (UoC), College of Health, School Nursing and Midwifery, Indigenous Health (2015); and a Research Fellow at the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (2011- 15).
