It is about to get easier to use your Avios to take your family or a friend with you on a BA flight — if and when Covid restrictions are lifted.
From September companion vouchers, which allow passengers to book two tickets for the price of one, will be available if you spend £12,000 on your BA Amex card, down from £20,000. The voucher will no longer be valid in business class, though — only economy.
The card, which does not have a fee, earns you one Avios per £1 spent. Any vouchers earned before September 1 will still be valid in any class, as long as they are in date. You cannot use several vouchers for a single transaction.
