An event in Hubbard is providing prom dresses to girls and also comes with a promise to stay safe this prom season.

Krysten’s Kloset is a prom dress giveaway that’s been happening for years in Hubbard. It’s part of the Krysten Elizabeth Studer Foundation. Committee member Sarah Studer said her sister, Krysten, was killed in 2003 by a drunk driver. It’s in her memory that the foundation organizes the dress giveaway that comes with the Prom Promise to not drink and drive.

“In our foundation, our emphasis on not drinking and driving is near to our hearts. Girls can try on and take home a dress for prom or any special event free of charge. The only stipulation in receiving a dress is signing the Prom Promise to not drink and drive,” Studer said.

Krysten’s Kloset is taking place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., March 23-24 at Roosevelt Elementary School Gymnasium, 110 Orchard Ave.

Along with the dresses, there are accessories and shoes available. Don’t need a dress? Come support a wonderful cause by checking out the large Chinese auction and bake sale!
