2010 Stanley Cup champion Dustin Byfuglien joins Chicago Blackhawks All-Decade Team

At 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, Dustin Byfuglien was a wrecking ball on skates.

In the 2007-08 season, the Blackhawks moved Byfuglien to forward. The decision was a good one, as he finished the season with 19 goals and 17 assists.

Byfuglien parked in front of the opposition's net was a recurring sight throughout the 2009-10 season. The Roseau, Minnesota native's ability to screen the goalie, fight off defenders (when they weren't bouncing off him) and utilize an underrated scoring touch helped Chicago capture the 2010 Stanley Cup.

Byfuglien had 11 goals, including five game-winners, in the 2010 postseason. His 11 markers tied Patrick Sharp for the team lead. Byfuglien also tallied a hat trick in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Vancouver Canucks, a four-point (two goals, two assists) Game 5 in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers and a goal in Game 6 to help the Hawks clinch the Cup on June 9, 2010.

Chicago grabbed the now 34-year-old in the eighth round of the 2003 NHL Draft (245th overall). He had 109 regular season points (55 goals, 54 assists) with the Blackhawks from 2006 to 2010.

After the confetti from the 2010 Stanley Cup celebrations fell, Chicago traded Byfuglien to the Atlanta Thrashers, now the Winnipeg Jets, along with Brent Sopel and Ben Eager in a salary cap move.

The three-time All-Star (2011, 2015, 2016) played mostly defense for the Thrashers and Jets, except for a stint in the second half of the 2013-14 season. It has been reported that the Jets and Byfuglien are working towards mutually terminating his contract. He hasn't played at all this season and underwent ankle surgery in October.
