Hartselle hires football coach from Jasper

Hartselle has lured Bryan Moore away from Jasper to lead the north Alabama school’s football program.

The Daily Mountain Eagle first reported Moore’s move this morning.

Moore led Jasper to its first 10-0 regular season in 20 years and led the Vikings to back-to-back region championships. Jasper finished 22-3 under Moore.

Moore previously coached at Eufaula for three seasons. He has a 48-12 record in five seasons as a head coach, won at least eight games each season and led his team to the playoffs all five years.

At Hartselle, Moore takes over a program that finished 4-7 last year in its only season under coach Bo Culver, who resigned in November.

Culver replaced Bob Godsey, who served as Hartselle’s football coach form 2003-18, last spring after Godsey resigned and took over at nearby Madison Academy. Hartselle finished 11-1 in 2017, and Godsey led the Tigers won the Class 5A state title in 2011.
