MA Officials Believe State Has 30,000 Active Coronavirus Cases

MASSACHUSETTS —State Department of Public Health officials there are more than 30,000 active coronavirus cases in the state, after reporting 2,076 new cases on Sunday.

The new cases bring the total to 182,544 since the first case was reported Feb. 1. There were also 33 new reported COVID-19 deaths Sunday, bringing the total to 10,098 since the first reported COVID-19 death on March 20.

Sunday's report include the estimate of 30,374 active coronavirus cases in Massachusetts. There were 737 coronavirus patients in Massachusetts hospitals Sunday. Of those, 159 were in intensive care.
