THORNVILLE, OH (WCMH) — The 2019 Country Jam and Campout has been canceled by the promoter, Synergy Global Entertainment, Inc.

According to the Country Jam and Campout website, the two-day country music festival being held at Legend Valley in Thornville, has been canceled by its promoter.

NBC4 has reached out to SGE for comment asking why they canceled the concert that was schedule for August 16 and 17. We have not heard back from them.

SGE has not posted about the festival cancellation on their social media pages, and as of Friday afternoon, they were still advertising it on their Instagram and Facebook pages.

This year lineup was scheduled to include Jason Aldean, Old Dominion and other country artists.

All fans who purchased a ticket will be issued a refund to their original method of payment, according to the website.

Around 12:30 p.m. Friday, the radio station said over the air, “Trust me, the frustration you are experiencing with this is doubled or tripled on our end,” but did not provide a more detailed explanation.

One local business says the concert brought new faces into their restaurant and hope it returns in 2020.

“It’s kind of a surprise. It’s something that people have grown accustomed to liking around here… being able to go to and camp out and have fun,” said Michael Sullivan, manager of Champs Pizza & Pub. “It’s definitely different, but I hope they bring it back next year and hopefully it’ll bring some new faces to the area again.”

MORE INFORMATION ON SGE

Live events trade publication Pollstar reported on July 19 that SGE was reorganizing:

Synergy Global Entertainment, the boutique festival and concert producer started by John Reese in 1997, “is reorganizing its operations and assessing strategic options” according to a statement sent to Pollstar. No other information was available at press time, and it’s unclear what will happen with upcoming scheduled events.
