Veterans Day Deals 2020: Deals from Corpus Christi area businesses for military veterans

Many area restaurants and businesses offer free meals or discounts on Veterans Day as a sign of appreciation to military personnel and veterans. Here's a list of locations offering these deals in 2020 around the Corpus Christi area. 

Free meals for veterans and other military personnel

Applebee’s will offer a free entrée from a select menu to all veterans and active duty military on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only and proof of military service required. Locations are 6691 S. Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi and 1820 U.S. Highway 181 in Portland. BJ's Brewhouse, 5037 S. Padre Island Dr., will offer all current and former military a free entree up to $14.95 and a free Dr Pepper beverage on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Offer valid for dine-in only and must present valid military ID. Information: https://www.bjsrestaurants.com/VeteransDay.

Bubba’s 33, 1921 S. Padre Island Drive, will offer a free meal from a select menu to all veterans (active, retired and former U.S. military) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only and proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers. For those with COVID-19 concerns, you may also come in and receive a voucher for a free meal to be used on another visit. Information: 361-806-2933.

Chili’s will offer a free meal from a select menu to all veterans and active military personnel on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only. Locations are 5542 S. Cicis Pizza will offer a free adult buffet to active military and veterans with proper ID on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Must present coupon found online along with ID. Dine-in only. Grub Burger Bar, 4902 South Staples St., will offer all active, inactive and retired military personnel a free entrée (excludes Wagyu patty) Wednesday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only and must present proof of service or military ID. Veterans and military personnel also receive a 10 percent discount off any purchase all year with valid ID or in uniform. Golden Corral, 5901 S. Padre Island Drive, is offering a free “thank you” promotional card to any active or former U.S. military from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. The promotional card may be redeemed for a free meal from Nov. 1, 2020 through May 31, 2021. Meal is dine-in only and must be used Monday through Thursday. Texas Roadhouse, 2029 S. Padre Island Drive, will offer a voucher for a free meal from a select list to veterans and active military. Simply drive by from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 to pick up your voucher that can be redeemed at a later date of your choice, for dine-in or takeout. Twin Peaks, 5425 S. Padre Island Drive, will offer a free meal from a select menu for veterans, active duty military and reservists on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Dine-in only. Information: 361-992-7325.

Wienerschnitzel will offer a free meal to active military and veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Locations in Corpus Christi are 2401 Ayers St., 4221 S. Alameda St., 3555 S. Padre Island Drive, 5861 S. Staples St., and 4001 U.S. Highway 77. Meal is a chili dog, small fries and small Pepsi. Guests must present valid military or veteran ID card or wear military uniform. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will honor veterans on Sunday, Nov. 8 with free park admission (entrance fee only) for all visitors. Local state parks include Mustang Island State Park, 9394 State Hwy. 361; Goose Island State Park, 202 S. Palmetto St., Rockport; and Lake Corpus Christi State Park, 23194 Park Road 25, Mathis.
