Earl Sweathshirt has been relentless to start the new year. After closing out 2018 with Some Rap Songs and releasing a DEATHWORLD winter clothing collection, the Chicago native has plenty more in store for his rabid fanbase. Sweatshirt dropped an eccentric short film titled Nowhere, Nobody as only he can on Wednesday.
The experimental clip sees co-directing duties delegated to Naima Ramos-Chapman and Terence Nance behind the camera. Earl kicks everything off by getting into an argument with a refereee at a local community youth basketball game. The scene bizarrely pivots to human caricatures being turned to white stone as statues, but the rest is something you really have to see to believe and understand what’s going on inside the former Odd Future standout’s mind.
Elsewhere, Earl Sweatshirt is heading out on tour this year. The 24-year-old will embark on the Thebe Kgositsile Presents: A Tour Starring Earl Sweatshirt & Friends. The North American trek is slated to start in New Orleans on March 23, where it will then head to NYC, Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and plenty more for a slew of show dates.
