Mohegan Lake Man Accused Of Violating Order Of Protection

Police said they found the man in the basement after receiving permission to search the home.

MOHEGAN LAKE, NY — A Westchester man was accused of violating an order of protection. Yorktown police said Saad Khan, 32, of Mohegan Lake, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Shortly before noon Tuesday, police went to a Mohegan Lake resident to investigate a report of someone being inside the residence.

Officers searched the home with the owner's permission and found Khan in the basement.

He was accused of violating a "stay away" temporary order of protection and was arrested.

Khan was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
