CUMMING, GA — Dexter Companies recently announced the development of a new industrial business park on Shiloh Road within the Meadows campus of South Forsyth County. The 51+/- acre site is already zoned for M1 (restricted industrial district) development and Dexter plans to build three buildings, totaling 404,800 square feet.

Ground breaking on both Building 1 (145,600 square feet) and Building 2 (136,000 square feet) will begin in May. A pad-ready site for Building 3 (123,200 square feet) will be developed to fully build out the project within three years.

The buildings will be available for single or multi-tenants in need of distribution, light manufacturing/assembly, and office space. Based on square footage, this project is forecasted to support 800-1,000 jobs upon completion, with an anticipated real property investment exceeding $35 million.

“We encourage residents to join us in welcoming this development to our community,” District 2
Commissioner, Dennis Brown said in a release. “This is an exciting development by a premier company – one that will enhance the overall balance between residential and commercial development in south Forsyth. Dexter’s presence in our community will help enhance our strategic position, enabling us to continue to attract top-quality companies and jobs to Forsyth County.”

Robert Long, Vice President of Economic Development, Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, said in a release that the community is excited that Dexter Companies selected Forsyth County to develop this "much-needed industrial flex product."

“When they break ground in May, we will have two of the largest available buildings along the Georgia 400 corridor under construction," Long said.

The Forsyth Ga. 400 corridor demands more high-quality industrial buildings for businesses seeking to tap into the metro area’s finest work force that yearns to work closer to their home, Blake Dexter, President of Dexter Companies, said in a release.

“We are filling that need with outstanding access to the Exit 12 McFarland interchange, together with immediate proximity to Big Creek Greenway access and the exciting Halcyon mixed-use village that will add 25 eateries (including a food hall), an Embassy Suites Hotel, and other amenities in spring of this year," Dexter said. "Shiloh Technology Center provides large, modern industrial footprints for light manufacturing and last-mile logistics to serve the surrounding affluent residential communities.”
