Discovery - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

Asmodeus is not a character who can be trusted, so it seemed possible that he would back out of his side of the deal when it came time to return Magnus' magic.

Surprisingly, Magnus' powers returned during Shadowhunters' opening scene and Asmodeus decided to use it as an opportunity to manipulate his way back into his son's life.

But here's the irritating part.

Magnus knew something wasn't right when Alec broke up him. He even said out loud that Alec wasn't that selfish.

While Magnus isn't to get blamed for anything, it is a little bit frustrating for viewers that Magnus' grief prevented him from seeing clearly and being able to connect the dots.

The night after Alec broke up with him, his father suddenly appeared out of nowhere ready to return his magic? Magnus has to realize that nothing about it makes sense.

Alec spent the majority of Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19 trying to focus on anything but the breakup, and Magnus spent the entire time dwelling on it.

Viewers already knew the depth of their love for each other, but the flashbacks were used to exemplify the stability of their relationship.

When it comes to having a family, you wouldn't be doing it alone.

Alec

When you have these kinds of discussions about the future, it's usually because you're planning on spending the rest of your lives together.

It's because of this that these memories deepened Magnus' confusion and sadness.

The most ironic part about it all is that Alec let Magnus go in order for him to be happy. But Magnus had his magic back for the entirety of Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19 and viewers have never seen him more miserable.

Magnus' magic is important to him, but there's no question he'd give it up for Alec. He's already done it once, and there's no doubt that he would do it again.

We've accepted that Brother Zachariah is our new favorite character on Shadowhunters.

Magnus may have begged him to take away his memories of Alec, but it was Zachariah's friendship that prevented him from doing what he asked.

He knew that forgetting Alec wasn't the right decision for Magnus to make, but unfortunately, Magnus doesn't even need Zachariah in order to accomplish his task.

The moment Magnus ripped Alec from his mind and was ready to destroy the memories once and for all, an unlikely savior stepped in.

We still hate Asmodeus. We hate him even more for using Magnus' pain to his advantage. But we don't hate that Asmodeus stopped Magnus from erasing the love of his life, even if we hate his reasoning for it.

Now that Magnus can no longer turn to Alec and he's seemingly rebuilding his relationship with his father, what's next for him?

Jace's love for Clary shined brighter than ever on Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

He refuses to give up on her, even though the darkness has taken over Clary completely.

It would be weird if Jonathan didn't find Jace's sudden desire to join him suspicious, so it makes perfect sense that he didn't buy Jace's act one bit.

Untrusting - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

Despite how pure Jace and Clary's love for each other is, it wasn't enough to bring Clary back. However, Clary refused to let Jace get hurt, and even fought side by side with him after discovering that he was a traitor.

I can't let him die!

Clary

Instead of killing him, she sent him safely back to the Institute.

Clary's love for Jace may be the only thing that remains of the real Clary, so hopefully, they'll continue to use that to save her.

Unlikely Trio - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

We do have to admit that dark Clary is fun to watch.

Clary has always been a badass, but she's such a kind-hearted person who never really displayed the same edginess that dark Clary does.

As much as we want Clary back, we wouldn't mind getting to see this side of her for just a little longer.

Now that Isabelle has successfully reforged Glorious in one of the most incredible Shadowhunters moment viewers have ever witnessed, all Clary's friends have to do is make a new plan and put it into action.

Solutions - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

Isabelle's intelligence gets overlooked too often for the sake of other storylines, and it seems as if her ability to do such incredible things is just something the audience is meant to expect at this point.

In reality, Isabelle Lightwood is an outright genius and deserves more credit for all that she can accomplish.

Thankfully, Simon recognizes just how wonderful Isabelle is, and the two share their cutest scene to date.

The Shadowhunters writers are finally done being subtly and are addressing their relationship head on.

I guess Lois just needed some time to see what was right in front of her.

Isabelle

It was disappointing that viewers didn't get a kiss after they were interrupted on Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 18, but Shadowhunters is no doubt leaving that lip-lock for what was supposed to be the Shadowhunters Season 3 finale.

Sizzy - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

There's a lot that needs to be addressed, including the last known cure for Downworlders.

Raphael: It's gone. Except for a few vials.
Maia: Well, where are those vials?

Simon was right when he told Maia they couldn't hand over the last vial. As beloved as Maia is and as much as she deserves to have the life she wants, there are a lot of other Downworlders in the same position.

Who's to say who deserves is the most?

Jordan has been carrying around the guilt of what he did to Maia for years, so it's not a surprise that he stole the Heavenly Fire.

While it wasn't addressed what he planned on doing it, it would make sense that he wants Maia to have it.

Heavenly Fire - Shadowhunters Season 3 Episode 19

With only a couple episodes left of the series, there are so many questions that need answering and storylines that need resolving.

Will Shadowhunters be able to pull it off in the time allotted to them? We have faith.
