Pool owners facing upcoming shortage of chlorine tablets, higher prices

A combination of increasing demand and a fire that closed a major chemical plant is likely to mean a shortage of swimming pool chlorine tablets and higher prices in the months ahead.

Rudy Stankowitz, president and chief executive officer of Gainesville-based Aquatic Facility Training & Consultants, calls the situation in the pool industry a potential future "poolmageddon."
