Bracket Madness: WeldWerks wins the 2018 craft beer challenge

WeldWerks Brewing Company, out of Greeley, Colo., has won the fourth For The Win craft beer bracket challenge, beating Richmond’s The Answer Brew Pub with 54.75 percent of the vote.

More importantly, there’s been mention of a possible collaboration between the finalists:

Say yes, WeldWerks. Say yes.

Thanks to everyone who helped whittle 32 amazing breweries down to one champion. As I hinted in the first post of this challenge, “best” is an awkward word to use when it comes to describing breweries because, chances are, there’s a very good one near you and you’ll have your best experience there — where you can ask about flavor profiles and learn more about what went into the beer — while keeping your money in the local economy.

By all means visit these breweries (we even created a map so you could locate all 32), or find a friendly trader who can get you some of their beers. They’re worth it, no question. But the beauty of craft beer is that it has created opportunity in thousands of buildings that once stood empty while shifting money from giant yellow-fizzy-water-making corporations to brewers who care deeply about their work and the places they call home.
