We’re just a couple weeks away from the 2019 Station Design Conference, May 14-16, in Rosemont, IL. And if you’re registered to attend or still on the fence about attending, let me share three things you need to know about this year’s conference.
1) If you look at the program, you’ll see 30 presentations targeting building or renovating fire/rescue, EMS stations and police and public safety facilities. Besides the general sessions, there are three “Tracks” for fire and law enforcement. Please note: You are not tied to one track. You are welcome to sit in any one of the three tracks each day that best fits your interests or needs.
We have selected specific individuals—architects and end users—to help share their knowledge and experience about a full range of topics related to process of building a new facility. From budgets and selecting the right location, to the needs assessment, effective designs, layout through the construction process, each of the presentation will help you build the right building for your department, personnel and community.
2) One unique feature of the Station Design Conference is the opportunity to meet individually with an objective, award-winning architect, who will review your site and/or floor plans and help you save time and money to build the best station for your department. I like to suggest this program is like going to another doctor for a second opinion. There is no sales pitch, just pure, honest information.
3) One more point. Based on previous attendees’ feedback, we think the Crowne Plaza Hotel is a great location for this year’s conference! Conveniently attached to the hotel is the “Caddy Shack” restaurant, owned by Bill Murray and his brothers. Within in a short walk is the Rosemont entertainment center with a host of restaurants, from casual to formal. And, If you have a spouse or friend joining you, across the street is the Fashion Outlets of Chicago and just north of the hotel is a casino.
