Decatur capital murder suspect extradited back from South Carolina

Antone Lamar Yarbrough, 27, was captured in Myrtle Beach around 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021. He was being sought on capital murder charges in Decatur.

A capital murder suspect who was arrested last month in South Carolina is back in Decatur after extradition.

Antone Lamar Yarbrough, 27, of Decatur, was one of two men wanted in the shooting death of Chester Lee Jordan, 59, of Decatur, on May 9.

Mashaud Tyliek Lewis, 21, of Decatur, another suspect, was arrested on May 14 and charged him with capital murder. Both Yarbrough and Lewis are being held in the Morgan County Correctional Facility without bond.

Yarbrough was captured in Myrtle Beach by U.S. Marshals on June 29.

Police responded to a call of an unresponsive male at 10:50 p.m. May 9 at 1220 Second Ave. S.W. Officers found the man in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The 59-year-old victim died later at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
