Evansville, WI: Dorothy Irene Kolasch, 92, passed away on July 25, 2020, at her residence in Evansville, WI.

Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at a Lutheran Church in Bowdle, SD. She graduated from 8th grade from a country school near Bowdle, attended high school at Mobridge Academy (a boarding school), graduating in 1947. She attended college in New Ulm, MN and was hired a year later to teach primary grades at a Lutheran school in LaCrosse, due to a teacher shortage.

In June of 1950, Dorothy married Norm (he passed away in 2007), and they moved to Galena, IL where they started their family. They moved to Lena, IL, then to Ellendale and Guelph, ND. In between these moves they had ten children. They moved to Boise, ID in 1969. They also lived in Northern Idaho and near Spokane, WA, before returning to North Dakota in 1979.

In 2004 Norm suffered a near fatal fall and was moved to a nursing home in Huron, SD, where his daughter Karen lived. Dorothy lived in Huron until 2011 when she made her final move to Evansville, WI to live with her son Tony, and his wife Anne (a registered nurse).

Dorothy enjoyed reading, writing, singing, gardening, baking, and being with her family, children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Above all she loved her Lord and Savior.

Dorothy is survived by her children Barbie (Rick), Nyna (Steve), Bruce (Reba), Karen (Dale), Connie, Tami (Paul), Tim (Roxie), Tony (Anne), her grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, three (of ten) siblings, and many nephews and nieces.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home in Evansville, Wisconsin on August 15th.

Visitation 12:30 to 2:00 p.m, memorial beginning at 2pm. A meal will be served at Creekside Place in Evansville following the service. Due to COVID-19, this will be a private family service.

The graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, SD at a later date.
