Aaron Carter says he has been left ‘devastated’ following news he has split form his fiancée, Melanie Martin, just one week after they welcomed a child together.
The 33-year-old singer had been in a relationship with Bulgarian-born bartender Melanie since the beginning of the year – with the duo going public with their love in January via Instagram.
By March, the couple were expecting their first child together – with Aaron excitedly sharing photos of positive pregnancy tests as he broke the news – and they became engaged in June.
And earlier this month, on November 22, the couple welcomed a son named Prince – who arrived via an emergency cesarean section operation.
But just a week later, it seems the relationship has dramatically collapsed – with Aaron lashing out at his now ex-fiancée while also accusing his family of interfering in his personal life.
Announcing the split on Tuesday, Aaron wrote on Twitter : “Due to personal reason Melanie Martin and I have decided to go our separate ways.”
He went on to suggest that there had been arguments in the family.
Aaron has a difficult relationship with his family – which includes Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter – over the years.
It comes after the couple welcomed their son last week as he paid tribute in a gushing Instagram post.
He wrote: "Emergency C Section after 13 hours of labor but my [fiancée] is in great health thank you lord and the incredibly sweet loving staff here.
"Prince is precious I love you son. Your mommy loves you as I drop tears on the phone. This is me cutting his umbilical cord my precious family #TheCarters
"@missmelaniemartin I’m so proud of you hunny you did it. I Love you with all my heart my beautiful blessings from god."
Following his arrival post, the star was met with a flurry of congratulatory messages from his fans.
One wrote: "Oh my goodness! Congrats from my family to yours. Love you and @missmelaniemartin very much! What a blessing!!"
And Aaron's pal, stand-up comedian Marcus Monroe, commented: "Congrats dude," before being met with a "thanks brotha" reply by Aaron.
