In his interview with Politico, former Vermont Governor Shumlin said nothing substantial nor substantive about Bernie Sanders: the main gripe from former Vermont Gov. Shumlin is that Bernie is not a team player and that he will "play dirty," as in his "warning that Sanders, an independent and a self-described democratic socialist feels no loyalty to Democrats."

Here is the interview: [click here]

Well, so what? The USA is beset with so many seemingly eternal problems which have devolved from precisely that kind of partisan loyalty, masking and enabling the still growing corporate manipulation of government: dysfunctional failures at EPA, FDA, BLM, Department of Education, et alia, all of which started long before the Trump era.

Haven't we seen enough of the mayhem resulting from "team players" over the past 40 years? Just start with the glaring symptoms of the obscenely bloated Pentagon budget, which, if redirected, would pay for a legion of long overdue infrastructure improvements.

Bernie is by far the CLEANEST Presidential candidate to run in the 60 years since I hung literature on doors of homes in Illinois for JFK in 1960 before I even became a teenager. And why Bernie? Because he is free of the baggage and the corporate trappings that have strangled any meaningful improvements in government in my adult life. Further, I am a Native American art dealer,in Santa Fe, and most of my political observations derive from respecting the Native American points of view.

I don't think for a minute that we Democrats are "holier than thou.," as Shumlin alleged. Who is Shumlin kidding? While all politicians put themselves first, Bernie has put minorities, and the unrepresented, the disenfranchised, and the suffering victims of the Kleptocracy above all other causes in his political lexicon, never to be another vassal of corporate power. Just look at the colors of the top people in his campaign.

Shumlin (like some of the apparatchik pundits, centrists, neoncon liberals, and the major networks themselves) wants to blow up the gaffe with Warren into something with political traction, but that won't work, because Shumlin's hostile remarks are clearly acts of transparent desperation intending solely to advance Biden. Usually, American voters are a bit smarter to fall for that.

What a refreshing breath of fresh air it will be to not have an Eternally Warmongering Commander-in-Chief? The USA has participated in at least 50 armed conflicts since 1950 (and how many more "covert operations"?), always with a cost of deaths, depriving our own citizens of what they really need, and pushing the once powerful USA into the status of second-rate nation. Military power is always the most expensive to maintain, compared to power that derives from the esteem of other nations.

Call Bernie's agenda socialist, globalist, pacifist, or purely Democratic. I believe the majority of Americans are supportive of his agenda, and the key element is our TRUST.

I personally would like to see every Bernie supporter, and for that matter, supporters of any of the remaining candidates, write a letter to the editor under 200 words, and let the readers and the media know how they really think, why they support their candidate. Such a deluge of letters before the bulk of the primaries take place would liven up America's Editorial pages, get the heartfelt truth out to millions of silent readers and general fence sitters, and might even sell a lot more newspapers. It might even for a few months silence those raucous media voices which have sold out to corporate manipulation.

Remember that the person reading those letters to the editor is often integrally involved in the endorsements before the primary and in late October before the November election. Honest letters to the editor from the heart create a ripple effect in the collective political mind, and lead to victories, because of their sincerity and their impact.

Remember what Thomas Jefferson wrote from Paris to Edward Carrington, Jefferson's delegate to the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788, on the importance of a free press to keep government in check, that if he had to choose between "a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."
