MEADE – Larned’s fourth-place singles Audrey Manry (21-10) and sixth-place doubles Ella McNett-Ava Mull (21-8) joins Ellinwood’s fifth place Monica Hammeke-Taryn Robl (13-10) for the 3-1A state tennis tournament at Prairie Village.

Ashland’s Victoria Milburn defeated Manry 6-2, 6-2 for third place after Manry lost 7-6, 6-2, 7-5 in a hard-fought semifinal against Scott City’s singles champion Abigail LeBeau.

Ellinwood’s Hammeke-Robl downed Larned’s McNett-Mull 6-2, 6-4 for fifth place. Hammeke-Robl downed South Central’s Abriana Uhl-Emma Dunn, 6-2, 6-3 and McNett-Mull defeated Cimarron’s Elizabeth Goetz-Abby Osborn, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in elimination matches that determined state qualifiers. 

The state entries will compete Friday-Saturday at Harmon Park Tennis Complex in Prairie Village.
