‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’ Launches On November 17

This article is more than 3 years old.

Ubisoft has finally given us a proper look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla during its Ubisoft Forward showcase. It also confirmed a release date for current-gen platforms: November 17.

The trailer shows different footage to that already leaked (which Ubisoft has also now officially released in an edited form), and, most importantly, shows Viking lead Eivor suplexing a giant wolf. It also shows off the Viking settlement you will be able to upgrade throughout the game, the combat (which looks like a more aggressive version of the style established in Origins and refined in Odyssey, while also introducing dual-wielding of any weapon), and, much to my excitement, stealth!

The trailer shows Eivor blending into the environment, something that has been sorely missing in recent entries. The series has been moving away from stealth for years now, so for something so central to Assassin’s Creed as blending to be making a return is incredibly exciting to me.

It also shows some things we’ve already seen in the leaked footage, such as the new loot system splitting all gear between three different skill trees: Raven, Bear and Wolf.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch on November 17 for PC and current-gen consoles, with next-gen versions coming at a later date. It was also confirmed for Stadia, for the three people still on that.
