The Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic plans to treat 600 adults patients with free cleanings, root canals and other dental services on Friday and Saturday.

Patients age 19 or older are invited to North Point High School at 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf, Maryland for the dental clinic.

Doors open at 6 a.m. each day. Services are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers say the doors will close when the clinic reaches capacity.

Spots are likely to fill up quickly, so patients should consider getting there early.

Hundreds of volunteer dentists, hygienists and assistants are expected to be on site providing services including routine cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, minor oral surgeries and dental hygiene education.

Catholic Charities DC, which operates three dental clinics offering care at a reduced cost, and the Southern Maryland Mission of Marcy are sponsors.

Any patient over 19 is welcome, Catholic Charities DC said.
