Monday will be mild with showers: Cleveland, Akron weather forecast

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The week is starting with some mild, damp conditions in Northeast Ohio as colder weather looms.

Monday will see highs in the mid-50s in both Akron and Cleveland. It will be breezy and gusts could reach 25 mph in Akron and 30 mph in Cleveland, according to the National Weather Service.

It also will be wet. Look for steady showers beginning at 5 a.m. and continuing into the evening. Rain is likely throughout the night and into Tuesday morning.

That rain could change into snow by Tuesday afternoon as temperatures drop through the day. Temps could reach the 40s early, but will be in the low 20s by Tuesday night. It will remain breezy, with gusts again approaching 30 mph in Cleveland and 24 in Akron.

Forecasters are calling for plenty of sunshine Wednesday but a warm coat and gloves will be needed ... highs will stay in the upper 20s in Cleveland and might reach 30 in Akron. Overnight lows will be in the mid-teens in Akron and high teens in Cleveland.

Highs will reach the low 30s on Thursday with partly sunny skies. Overnight lows will be in the mid-20s with partly cloudy skies.

The temps could creep back into the 40s over the weekend, but forecasters currently are calling for showers.
