Stolen Jet Ski Lands 2 In Jail: Bloomingdale Police Blotter

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — Bloomingdale Police made several arrests on Aug. 1 and 2, including for a stolen jet ski and trailer found in the town. Read about those arrests, as written by police, in the blotter here:

On 8/1/19 at 18:51 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan stopped a motor vehicle on Main Street. After speaking with the 49 year old male driver out of Hewitt, Ptl. Zeidan observed signs of C.D.S. usage. The driver who was operating the vehicle with a suspended license, was found to have suspected marijuana. A search of the passengers, a 42 year old female from Bloomingdale and a 52 year old male from Wanaque yielded additional C.D.S., specifically suspected THC oil and heroin. All 3 occupants were arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. The driver was charged with possession of C.D.S. (marijuana), possession of C.D.S. in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended and several additional motor vehicle summonses. The female passenger was charged with possession of C.D.S. (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender C.D.S., while the male passenger was charged with 2 counts of possession of C.D.S. (heroin and marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender C.D.S. All were released pending their court date. Ptl. Gary Walker and Passaic County Sheriff's Officer Kristo assisted at the scene.

On 8/2/19 at 17:49 hours, a resident from Guttenberg, NJ came to this department advising that he had a jet-ski and trailer stolen from another jurisdiction. He was able to track the items and advised this department that his stolen items were located in Bloomingdale on Union Avenue. Det. Steven Smith, Sgt. Michael Boffa and Ptl. Gary Walker and responded to a residence on Union Avenue. The officers were able to locate the stolen items. The officers spoke with 2 males on location, a 40 year old from Bloomingdale and a 47 year old from Livingston. Both were eventually arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. Both males were charged with 2 counts of theft and 2 counts of receiving stolen property. The 47 year old male who had initially provided some false information on his identity was also charged with obstruction of justice. Both males were transported to Passaic County Jail. Det. Daniel Greenwood and Ptl. Conrad Jimenez along with the Passaic County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigation and K-9 Units assisted with the investigation.
