A retired sergeant from the Army Reserve was arrested after authorities claim they found more than 1,000 printed photos and another 1,500 files of child porn on his computer in Bloomingdale.

Alexander Radics, 57, was charged Wednesday after detectives searched his home, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik. Authorities will also search more of Radics' devices for any additional files, Berdnik stated.

Radics, who was held at Passaic County Jail following his arrest, worked at the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System as a licensed practical nurse. A representative from the state health care system was not immediately available for comment Thursday evening.

The photos were 4 by 6 inches and showed "children engaged in sexual acts and also posing in a highly suggestive manner," according to Berdnik. The sheriff said he considered it one of the larger child pornography cases in Passaic County in recent years.
