Northpoint Seattle is a highly specialized drug and alcohol outpatient treatment center located in Northgate in Seattle, WA. We provide the ASAM continuum of care while giving clients the flexibility to live at home and maintain their everyday obligations.

At THIRA, we specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and even have Dr. Kathryn Korslund (a key researcher and developer of DBT methods and training) on staff. Originally developed at the University of Washington by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., DBT was first designed to treat interpersonal chaos, intense emotional swings, impulsiveness, confusion about the self (identity), and suicidal behavior. It is based on a bio-social theory that states that problems develop from the interaction of biological factors (physiological makeup) and environmental factors (learning history), which together create difficulty managing emotions. DBT is therefore appropriate for a range of additional problems that relate to emotion dysregulation such as depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, anger-related problems, and substance use problems. A great deal of research has been conducted on the effectiveness of DBT and, in general, DBT appears as effective or more effective than other “talk based” psychotherapies for the problems mentioned above.

Adult, Young Adult (18-30), 50+, and Adolescent (13-17) PHP, partial hospitalization, programs. Using CBT and ACT programming, medication management, nursing groups, rec and music therapy, the Partial Hospitalization Program provides treatment for people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and other mood disorders. Patients participate in group therapy for six hours a day, five days per week. The Adolescent PHP program is available virtually or on-site.

Imagine by Northpoint is an outpatient mental health treatment center for adolescents ages 12-17 in Seattle, WA. Our treatment consists of a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP). We work with teens that suffer from mental health or behavioral conditions. We provide necessary coping skills and tools to transition back into their home, community and schooling system.

Our specialized curriculum is designed to close proficiency gaps and help students grow their strengths, while building executive functioning, time management, and motivation. Newport’s educational program also offers credit recovery options for students who have failed classes or missed pertinent instruction as a result of their mental health. Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital's mission is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and innovative environment of patient centered care. Located in Marysville, WA -- Smokey Point Behavioral opened its doors in June 2017 to meet the needs of a rapidly growing North Sound region with a 115-bed, state-of-the-art, freestanding psychiatric facility. Six units provide group-facilitated, short-term specialized treatment for behavioral health and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse) for both adults and adolescents within a secure unit.
