Basking Ridge Fitness Studio Reopens With Outdoor Training

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Fitness Together in Basking Ridge is adapting to the new reality amid the coronavirus by offering alternative and socially distanced friendly ways to work out.

When the coronavirus hit in March, Billy Beyer, owner of the training studio at 44 S Finley Ave., was forced to close. However, he immediately began offering virtual training to keep his clients in shape.

"We were able to do virtual training since we closed so I really can't complain," Beyer said of closing since March. "We have 50 clients and 20 were doing the virtual trainings. You just have to be creative."

Now fully reopening his studio last week, Beyer has incorporated outdoor workouts to his studio.

"Anyone who is not comfortable coming inside the studio can do outdoor training," Beyer said. "Plus everything we do is one to one."

Beyer says he has anywhere from 12 to 20 sessions scheduled everyday. The sessions are 45-minutes each and scheduled on the hour.

"This leaves a 15-minute gap between each appointment so we can clean and sanitize, and get people out of the studio before new people come in so they are not crossing paths," Beyer said.

Beyer's studio focuses on one-to-one private sessions and each session is an individual room that has a wall from floor to ceiling. Not only does this allow for social distancing but it allows clients to feel comfortable while working out.

"Our sessions are offered for any level of fitness. We design the program to best fit the individual client," Beyer said. "And the privacy makes the client feel less intimidated since there is no one watching you. There is no need to be embarrassed by your exercise level."
