Perhaps, but the Preppers also deserve a chance to defend their Crop standing vs. fellow Crop sides. US gets such an opportunity Sept. 23 when it hosts Riverside in Hunting Valley. … Mentor is not moving down for a 2-0 loss to Brunswick after balancing it out to some degree with a 4-1 win over South. … The Beavers aren’t going anywhere either after a 2-1 loss to non-area side Cleveland Heights. Dispatching Chardon, 6-1, and Harvey, 2-1, is plenty to stay at No. 4. … The one change that had to be made was Chagrin Falls, on a four-match winless skid, moving out of the top 10. North deservedly debuts at No. 9 and has plenty of chances to ascend going forward. It’s great to see Coach Steve Misick’s side finally healthy. … South gets a watch list look after a decent showing at Mentor for the better part of an hour.
